Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Jen Modern Round Wall Light need to be installed by a qualified electrician?
Yes, as this is a hardwired mains-voltage wall light, installation must comply with UK Building Regulations Part P. Unless you are a competent person registered with a relevant scheme, you should hire a qualified electrician to carry out the installation and issue the necessary certification. The fitting is Class II (double insulated), so it does not require an earth connection.
What type of bulb does this wall light use and is it included?
This wall light requires a G9 capsule bulb with a maximum wattage of 50W. The bulb is not included, so you'll need to purchase one separately. G9 bulbs are widely available in LED, halogen, and other formats—LED G9 bulbs are recommended for energy efficiency and longer lifespan.
Can I use a dimmable bulb with the Jen wall light?
The product specifications do not indicate whether this fitting is dimmable. If you wish to use a dimmer switch, you'll need to confirm compatibility with the manufacturer or supplier before installation, as not all G9 fittings support dimming circuitry. Using a dimmable LED G9 bulb alone is not sufficient—the fixture itself must be dimmer-compatible.
Is this wall light suitable for use in a bathroom?
No, this wall light has an IP20 rating, which means it is not protected against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor environments. For bathroom use, you would need a fitting rated at least IP44 (or IP65 for zones 1 and 2), depending on the specific bathroom zone.
What rooms or spaces is the Jen black and gold wall light best suited for?
With its IP20 rating and modern design, this wall light is ideal for dry indoor spaces such as living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, or dining areas. The black with gold finish gives it a contemporary decorative appeal, making it suitable for accent lighting or ambient illumination in stylish interiors.
What colour temperature and brightness should I look for in a G9 bulb for this fitting?
The bulb choice depends on your desired ambience. For a warm, cosy feel, choose a G9 bulb around 2700K–3000K; for a brighter, cooler light, opt for 4000K or above. In terms of brightness, a typical LED G9 bulb produces between 200–400 lumens, which is suitable for accent or ambient lighting given the 50W maximum rating.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
