Frequently asked.
Everything we get asked most often, gathered in one place. Can't find what you're looking for? Write to us — we read every message.
Delivery & shipping
When will my order arrive?
Most UK mainland orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday go out the same day, with delivery the next working day. Orders placed after 2pm ship the following working day.
Larger pieces and some fragile items ship on a two-day service. We'll tell you which applies before you check out.
You'll get an email with tracking the moment your order leaves us.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Not yet — for now we ship to UK mainland addresses only. Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Wight may carry a surcharge or a slightly longer delivery time, calculated at checkout.
We're working on international shipping. If you're outside the UK and there's a piece you'd love, write to us and we'll see what we can do.
Can I track my order?
Yes. As soon as your order leaves us we'll email you a tracking number and a link to follow it. Most carriers update every few hours.
If you haven't had a tracking email within 24 hours of ordering on a working day, check your spam folder — and if it's not there, write to us and we'll resend it.
Returns & refunds
What's your returns policy?
You have 30 days from delivery to return anything in its original condition for a full refund. The piece needs to be unused, with the original packaging where possible.
If something arrived damaged or faulty, that's different — write to us straight away and we'll sort it.
How do I return something?
Drop us a line at hello@enso-light.com with your order number and a quick note on what you'd like to return. We'll send you a returns address and any instructions specific to the piece.
Re-pack it in the original box if you have it, or something equivalent — these are fragile things and we want them to make the journey home in one piece.
Do I pay return shipping?
For change-of-mind returns, you cover return shipping. We recommend a tracked, insured service — these are fragile pieces and you'll want proof if something happens in transit.
If the item arrived faulty, damaged, or wasn't what you ordered, we cover return shipping. Just let us know first.
Products & bulbs
Are bulbs included with my light?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no — it depends on the piece. Every product page tells you clearly under the spec section. If a bulb isn't included, we'll usually recommend the right one to pair with it.
If you're not sure which bulb to buy, write to us — we'd rather you ask than guess.
What's the difference between 2700K, 3000K, and 4000K bulbs?
The K stands for Kelvin and describes the warmth or coolness of the light.
2700K — very warm, like candlelight or a traditional incandescent bulb. Best for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, and anywhere you want a cosy, restful feeling.
3000K — warm white, slightly cleaner than 2700K. A good middle ground for kitchens, hallways, and bathrooms.
4000K — neutral white, closer to natural daylight. Best for task lighting, garages, and workspaces — but rarely the right choice for a home in the UK.
Our advice: when in doubt, go warmer. A 2700K bulb in a 4000K fitting will make a room feel inhabited. The other way around feels like an office.
Are your lights dimmable?
Most are, but it depends on three things: the fitting itself, the bulb you use, and the dimmer switch in your wall. All three need to be dimmer-compatible.
Each product page tells you whether the fitting is dimmable. If you're planning to use it with a dimmer, look for an LED bulb labelled "dimmable" — not all LEDs are.
If you've got an older trailing-edge dimmer at home, you may need to upgrade it. Worth asking an electrician.
Do I need an electrician to install?
For anything hardwired into your ceiling or wall — pendants, wall lights, ceiling lights — yes, we strongly recommend using a qualified electrician. UK electrical regulations require it for most installations, and good lighting is worth doing properly.
For plug-in pieces like table lamps and floor lamps, no — just plug in and go.
Orders & payment
What payment methods do you accept?
All major cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Shop Pay. You'll see the options at checkout.
We don't store your card details — payment is handled by Shopify Payments and your card provider.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If your order hasn't shipped yet, yes — write to us as soon as possible and we'll do our best. Most orders ship the same day, so the window is short.
If it's already shipped, you'll need to wait for it to arrive and use the returns process. Annoying but unavoidable.
Do you offer trade pricing?
Yes — we work with interior designers, architects, developers and other trade clients. Trade pricing is available on selected pieces.
Drop us a line at trade@enso-light.com with a bit about you and what you're working on, and we'll get you set up.
Care & guarantee
How do I clean my light?
Turn it off and let it cool first. Then a soft, dry cloth for most materials — microfibre works well.
For brass and metalwork, a barely-damp cloth is fine. Avoid abrasive cleaners, alcohol, and anything labelled "polish" unless the maker specifically recommends it. Many of our pieces have a deliberate aged or living finish that polishes will strip.
For fabric shades, a soft brush or a quick once-over with a vacuum on low suction.
What's your guarantee?
Every piece we sell comes with a manufacturer's warranty, which varies by maker — usually one to five years against manufacturing defects. The product page tells you which applies.
If something goes wrong within that period, write to us. We deal with the maker on your behalf so you don't have to.
A bulb has blown — what now?
Bulbs aren't covered by warranty — they're consumables, like batteries.
Turn the fitting off at the wall, let it cool, and replace with the same type of bulb. Each of our product pages lists the specification. If you're unsure, drop us a photo of the old bulb and we'll point you to the right replacement.
