Terms of service
Last updated: 17 August 2026
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Barton Mill Group Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17367362, trading as Enso Lighting.
Registered office: The Manse, Chapel Terrace, Carharrack, Redruth, TR16 5RR, England.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Barton Mill Group Limited. "You" means the person placing an order through this website.
You can reach us at help@ensolighting.com. We reply within one working day, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
2. These terms
These terms apply to every order placed through this website. Please read them before you order — by placing an order you agree to them. We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applies to your order is the one published on this site at the moment you place it.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
3. Placing an order
Our product pages are an invitation to order, not an offer. When you place an order you will receive an acknowledgement email — this confirms we have received your order, but it does not mean we have accepted it.
A contract between us comes into existence only when we send you a dispatch confirmation, or, for made-to-order pieces, when we confirm that your order has been placed with the maker.
We may decline an order. Reasons include a product being unavailable, an error in the price or description, a failed payment authorisation, or an address we cannot deliver to. If we decline your order we will tell you and refund any payment taken in full.
4. Made to order
We hold no warehouse stock. Every piece is ordered from, or made by, its maker after you buy it. This is why our lead time is 10–14 working days rather than next day, and it is a deliberate part of how Enso works.
Where a particular piece has a longer lead time, that is stated on its product page.
5. Price and payment
All prices are shown in pounds sterling and are the price you pay for the goods, excluding delivery.
We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on your order. If this changes we will update this page and our pricing display accordingly.
Payment is taken at the point of order. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Your card details are handled by our payment providers; we do not store them.
We take care with pricing, but errors happen. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will contact you to ask whether you wish to continue at the correct price or cancel. If we cannot reach you, we will treat the order as cancelled and refund you in full.
6. Delivery
We currently deliver to UK mainland addresses only.
- Delivery is free on orders over £75.
- Below £75, delivery is a flat £7.95, whatever you order.
- Please allow 10–14 working days from order to delivery.
Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight and the Scottish Highlands and Islands may attract a surcharge or a longer timescale, calculated at checkout.
Delivery timescales are estimates given in good faith and are not guaranteed. If delivery is going to be materially delayed we will tell you and you may cancel and receive a full refund.
Goods become your responsibility once they are delivered to the address you gave us. Ownership passes to you once we have received payment in full.
Please check your delivery on arrival and tell us within a reasonable time if anything is damaged or missing.
7. Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. That right lasts for 14 days from the day you receive the goods, and you do not need to give a reason.
We give you 30 days instead, because we would rather you had time to live with a light before deciding. Our returns policy sets out how that works and forms part of these terms.
To cancel, email help@ensolighting.com with your order number. We will reply within one working day with a returns address and instructions. You do not have to use a particular form of words, but a clear statement that you are cancelling is enough.
Return the goods to us in their original condition, unused and with their original packaging where possible. You pay the cost of return postage where you have simply changed your mind. We recommend a tracked and insured service, as the goods remain your responsibility until they reach us.
We will refund you to your original payment method, normally within 5–10 working days of receiving the goods back.
Where the right to cancel does not apply
The statutory right to cancel does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised. In practice this means bespoke and custom-made pieces, and fittings that have already been installed.
This does not affect your rights if goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.
8. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items
If something arrives faulty, damaged, or is not what you ordered, tell us and we will cover the cost of return postage and put it right — by repair, replacement or refund.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not, you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement, or a refund, depending on the circumstances and how long you have had the goods.
9. Warranty
We offer a two-year warranty as standard on everything we sell, running from the date of delivery. Some pieces carry a longer manufacturer's warranty, stated on the product page.
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover normal wear, damage caused by misuse or accident, damage caused by incorrect installation, or consumable items such as bulbs beyond their rated life.
The warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights.
10. Installation and electrical safety
Our products are lighting fittings and many of them are intended to be wired into a mains electrical supply.
Hard-wired fittings must be installed by a qualified and competent electrician, in accordance with the current IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and Building Regulations Part P where applicable. Do not attempt to install a mains-wired fitting yourself unless you are qualified to do so.
Always observe the maximum wattage, bulb type, ingress protection (IP) rating and installation zone stated for the fitting. Using a bulb above the stated maximum wattage, or installing an indoor-rated fitting in a bathroom zone or outdoors, is unsafe and will invalidate the warranty.
We are not responsible for loss or damage arising from incorrect installation, or from a fitting being used in a way or a location it is not rated for.
11. Product information
We describe our products as accurately as we can, including their origin. Where we can state where a piece is made, we say so; where we can only state where it was designed, we say that instead.
Photography, colour rendering and dimensions are given as a guide. Screens vary, and finishes on hand-made pieces vary slightly between examples — this is a characteristic of the work, not a defect.
12. Our liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable at the time the contract was made, or for business losses — we supply to consumers for domestic and private use, and if you use the goods for any commercial purpose we have no liability for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
13. Events outside our control
We are not liable for a failure or delay in performing our obligations caused by an event outside our reasonable control. If such an event occurs we will contact you as soon as possible, and you may cancel and receive a full refund if the delay is substantial.
14. Using this website
The content of this website — including text, photography, product names and design — belongs to us or is used with permission, and may not be reproduced commercially without our written consent.
You may not use this site fraudulently, or in a way that damages it or interferes with anyone else's use of it.
We may withdraw or amend the site at any time without notice.
15. Your information
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
16. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please email help@ensolighting.com and give us the chance to fix it. We aim to acknowledge complaints within one working day and resolve them within five.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
