Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Halo Ribbed Wall Sconce need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, this is a hardwired Class I fitting that requires connection to mains wiring and an earth, so installation falls under Building Regulations Part P in England and Wales. Unless you're a qualified electrician or competent person, you'll need to hire a registered spark to carry out the work and certify it. The fitting itself is rated as 'easy' to install once the electrical connection is made, typically mounting to a standard BESA box.
How should I position the Halo wall sconce for best effect?
For general ambient lighting, mount the centre of the fitting 1.5–1.7m above floor level — this keeps the light at a comfortable height that avoids glare whilst casting even illumination up and down the wall. If you're flanking a mirror, bedside table or kitchen counter, drop it lower to 1.0–1.2m above the surface so the light pools where you need it most. Given its slim 87mm projection and 200mm height, it works beautifully in runs of two or three along hallways or staircases at regular 1.5–2m intervals.
Can I use the Halo wall sconce in a bathroom?
It's rated IP20, so it's only suitable for bathroom zones outside the designated wet areas — typically Zone 3 (more than 600mm from the bath/shower) or beyond. It's ideal flanking a mirror well away from direct water contact, but don't install it directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure. For zones 1 and 2, you'll need a fitting rated IP44 or higher.
What are the exact dimensions and how far does it stick out from the wall?
The Halo measures 200mm tall, 83mm wide, and projects 87mm from the wall. That shallow depth makes it a good choice for narrower hallways, staircases, or beside mirrors where you don't want the fitting to protrude too much. It weighs 600g, so it's light enough to mount on plasterboard with appropriate fixings.
What type of bulb does the Halo wall sconce take and is one included?
The Halo uses an E14 SES (small Edison screw) bulb, which is not included in the box. You'll want a candle or golf-ball shape to suit the proportions of the ribbed glass cylinder — look for a 4–6W LED (equivalent to 40–60W incandescent) in 2700K warm white for a soft ambient glow. Because the fitting is dimmable, you can pair it with a dimmable E14 bulb and a trailing-edge dimmer switch for full control over the mood.
What warranty does the Halo Ribbed Wall Sconce come with?
It carries a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal domestic use. This is provided by National Lighting and covers the antique brass metalwork, glass shade, and electrical components, though consumable bulbs are typically excluded.

The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
