Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

What dimmer switch do I need for this G9 LED bulb?
The Lumi requires a trailing edge dimmer switch for smooth, flicker-free dimming. Standard rotary or older leading edge dimmers may cause buzzing or flickering with LED bulbs. The dimmer is not included with the bulb, so you'll need to purchase one separately if your existing switch isn't trailing edge compatible.
How bright is 480 lumens compared to a halogen G9 bulb?
This 4W LED produces 480 lumens, which is equivalent to a traditional 50W halogen G9 capsule bulb. You'll get the same brightness while using 92% less energy. The 2700K warm white colour temperature matches the cosy glow of halogen, so there's no compromise on ambience.
Will this G9 bulb fit my existing light fitting?
The Lumi uses the standard G9 two-pin push-fit base, which is 9mm between pins. As long as your fitting accepts G9 capsule bulbs, this LED will fit directly as a replacement. Simply push the pins into the holder until firmly seated — no twisting or screwing required.
Can I use this bulb in a bathroom or shower fitting?
No, this bulb is rated IP20 and is suitable for indoor dry locations only. It is not safe for use in bathroom zones near showers, baths, or anywhere it may be exposed to moisture. For bathrooms, you'll need a bulb with a minimum IP44 rating.
Do I need an electrician to replace a G9 bulb?
No, replacing a G9 bulb is a simple swap that doesn't require an electrician. Just switch off the light, allow the old bulb to cool if it's been on, then pull it straight out and push the new Lumi bulb into the holder. This is not notifiable work under Part P regulations.
What's the warranty on this LED bulb?
The Lumi G9 LED bulb comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. If the bulb fails during normal use within this period, you're entitled to a replacement. Keep your proof of purchase for warranty claims.
