Good to know
A few questions,
before it comes home.
Is this LED filament bulb compatible with dimmer switches?
Yes, the Lumen 7W GLS LED filament bulb is fully dimmable. It works with most leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmer switches, though performance varies by dimmer model. If you experience flickering or limited range, you may need to replace older dimmer switches with LED-compatible versions.
What is the actual brightness of this 7W LED bulb compared to traditional bulbs?
This bulb produces 806 lumens, which is equivalent to a traditional 60W incandescent bulb. With a warm white colour temperature of 2700K and a CRI of 80, it delivers a comfortable, natural-looking light suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, and dining areas.
Can I use this bulb outdoors in a porch or garden light fitting?
This bulb is rated IP20, which means it's only protected against solid objects and has no water resistance. It can be used outdoors only if installed within a fully weatherproof enclosed fitting that protects the bulb itself from moisture and rain. For exposed outdoor locations, choose a bulb with a minimum IP44 rating.
Will this E27 LED bulb fit my existing lamp or ceiling fitting?
Yes, if your fitting has a standard E27 Edison Screw (ES) socket. The bulb measures 105mm in height and 60mm in diameter, so check your lampshade or fitting has sufficient clearance. The clear glass design makes it ideal for exposed fittings where the bulb is visible.
How long will this LED filament bulb last before needing replacement?
The Lumen has a rated lifespan of 25,000 hours. If used for an average of 3 hours per day, this translates to approximately 22 years of service. The bulb also comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty for added peace of mind.
Do I need an electrician to install this bulb or can I fit it myself?
This is a simple screw-in bulb replacement that requires no electrical work. You can install it yourself by switching off the light, allowing any existing bulb to cool, unscrewing the old bulb, and screwing in the new one. No Part P certification or electrician is required for bulb replacement.
