Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

The Lumi replaces a traditional 40W halogen G9 capsule bulb while consuming just 4.2W of power. It produces 470 lumens, delivering the same brightness you'd expect from a 40W halogen but with significant energy savings and a much longer lifespan.
Will this G9 LED bulb work with my existing dimmer switch?
This bulb is fully dimmable but requires a trailing-edge dimmer to function properly. If you currently have an older leading-edge or rotary dimmer designed for halogen bulbs, you'll likely need to replace it with a trailing-edge model to avoid flickering or buzzing. Most modern LED-compatible dimmers sold in the UK are trailing-edge.
Can I use this G9 LED bulb in my bathroom light fitting?
No, this bulb is rated IP20, which means it's not splash-proof and is only suitable for dry indoor locations. For bathroom use—especially in zones 1 or 2 near showers or baths—you'll need a bulb with a minimum IP44 rating or higher to meet UK Building Regulations.

Just switch off the light, allow the old bulb to cool if it's been on, then gently pull it straight out from the push-fit socket and push the new Lumi bulb firmly into place until it clicks.
What are the physical dimensions of this G9 capsule bulb?
While exact dimensions aren't listed in the specifications, standard G9 LED capsules are typically around 50–55mm in length and 15–16mm in diameter.
