Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Does the Vireo LED stick wall light require an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a hardwired wall light and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains electrical supply and cannot simply be plugged in. Installation involves fixing the circular base plate to the wall and making permanent electrical connections, so professional installation is both required and recommended for safety.
Can this wall light be used with a dimmer switch?
No, the Vireo is not dimmable. The integrated LED module operates at a fixed output of 690 lumens and cannot be controlled by a dimmer switch. If you install it on a circuit with an existing dimmer, you'll need to replace the switch with a standard on/off switch to avoid compatibility issues or damage to the LED driver.
What colour temperature does this wall light produce?
This fitting emits a warm white light at 3000K, which creates a cosy, inviting atmosphere similar to traditional halogen lighting. At 690 lumens output from the 13W integrated LED, it provides gentle ambient illumination rather than bright task lighting, making it ideal for hallways, living rooms, and bedrooms where you want a relaxing glow.
Can I replace the LED bulb when it eventually fails?
No, this wall light uses an integrated LED module rather than a replaceable bulb. The LED is built permanently into the fitting and is designed to last many years of typical use. If the LED does eventually fail, the entire unit would need replacing, though this is covered under the 3-year manufacturer's warranty.
How far does the Vireo stick out from the wall?
The fitting has a depth of 100mm from the wall, with the circular base anchoring the slender 500mm tall vertical profile. The width is just 60mm, making it a relatively slim design that won't protrude too far into narrow hallways or passageways whilst still creating the signature backlit wall wash effect.
Is this wall light suitable for bathrooms?
No, the Vireo has an IP20 rating which means it's only suitable for dry indoor locations. It offers no protection against moisture or water ingress, so it cannot be safely installed in bathrooms or any other areas where it might be exposed to splashes or high humidity. For bathrooms, you'd need a fitting rated at least IP44 or higher depending on the zone.
