Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does this wall light require an electrician to install?
Yes, the Callas is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK Part P Building Regulations. The fitting connects directly to your mains wiring, typically via a BESA box or backplate, and is not suitable for DIY installation unless you hold the appropriate electrical qualifications. Mounting screws and plugs are included in the box.
What type of bulb does this fitting take and is it included?
This wall spot requires a single G9 capsule bulb with a maximum wattage of 33W. The bulb is not included with the fitting, so you'll need to purchase one separately. G9 bulbs are widely available in both halogen and LED versions, with LED options offering better energy efficiency and longer lifespan.
Can I use this wall light with a dimmer switch?
Dimmability depends entirely on the bulb you choose, as the fitting itself does not restrict dimming. If you install a dimmable G9 LED bulb and have a compatible LED dimmer switch fitted, the light can be dimmed. Note that the integrated on/off switch on the fitting is separate from any dimmer control on your wall.
Is this wall light suitable for bathroom use?
No, this fitting has an IP20 rating, which means it offers no protection against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor locations. It cannot be installed in bathrooms or any other areas where water or high humidity is present. For bathroom use, you would need a fitting with a minimum IP44 rating, or IP65 for use in shower zones.
What are the exact dimensions and how far does it project from the wall?
The Callas measures 150mm in height, 100mm in width, and projects 150mm from the wall when installed. This compact size makes it ideal for hallways, alcoves, or above bedside tables where space is limited. The adjustable head on the spring coil stem allows you to direct the light without adding to the projection.
Can this be used as a reading light above a bed or chair?
Yes, the fully adjustable head makes the Callas well-suited for task lighting such as reading. You can direct the beam precisely where needed, and the integrated on/off switch allows convenient control without reaching for a wall switch. The opal glass shade diffuses the light to reduce glare, though the quality of illumination will depend on the brightness and colour temperature of the G9 bulb you choose.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
