Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Harlow antique brass wall spot require an electrician to install?
Yes, the Harlow is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains wiring, typically via a BESA box or similar mounting point. While the integrated on/off switch means you won't need additional wiring for separate switching, the initial installation is notifiable electrical work.
What type of bulb does this wall spotlight take and is it included?
The Harlow uses a single GU10 bulb with a maximum wattage of 50W, which is not included with the fitting. You can choose any GU10 lamp to suit your needs—whether warm white (2700K-3000K) for a cosy feel, cool white (4000K+) for task lighting, or daylight tones. GU10 bulbs are widely available and simply twist-lock into place without tools.
Can I use this spotlight with a dimmer switch?
Dimming capability depends entirely on the GU10 bulb you install, not the fitting itself. If you choose a dimmable GU10 LED bulb and have a compatible LED dimmer switch installed, the Harlow can be dimmed. However, the integrated on/off switch on the fitting will function independently of any wall-mounted dimmer, so you'll control dimming at the wall and on/off at the fixture.
What are the dimensions of the Harlow wall spot and how far does it project from the wall?
The fitting measures 130mm in height, 100mm in width, and projects 140mm from the wall when mounted. The adjustable head and spring coil stem allow you to direct the beam in multiple directions, but you should account for the full 140mm depth when planning installation above furniture, shelving, or in narrow hallways.
Is this antique brass spotlight suitable for bathroom use?
No, the Harlow has an IP20 rating, which means it's not protected against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor locations. For bathroom installation, you would need a fitting rated IP44 or higher depending on the zone. This spotlight is ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, or kitchen areas away from direct water exposure.
How many lumens or how bright is this industrial wall light?
The brightness depends entirely on which GU10 bulb you install, as bulbs are sold separately. A typical 5W GU10 LED produces around 400 lumens (suitable for accent or reading light), while a 7W version offers approximately 600 lumens for stronger task lighting. The maximum 50W rating allows for very bright halogen bulbs if preferred, though LED alternatives are more energy-efficient.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
