Product Care Guide

Plaster

Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.

Brass & metal

Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.

Glass

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.

Fabric shades

Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.

Ceramic

Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.

Before you clean

Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Light That Tells the Truth

Some spaces demand more than ambience — they need accuracy. The Nimbus Pro delivers gallery-grade illumination with a CRI97 rating that renders colour as your eyes were meant to see it. That 4000K neutral white cuts through without the yellow cast of halogen, making it indispensable in kitchens where food prep matters, studios where fabric and paint must read true, or anywhere clinical clarity beats cosy glow.

At just 6 watts, this dimmable GU10 replaces an 80-watt halogen without compromise, throwing 575 lumens through a focused 36-degree beam. Built with quality glass and backed by a five-year warranty, it's engineered for the long run — compatible with standard leading-edge dimmers and designed to perform exactly as promised, day after day.

Focused Spotlight Beam

Delivers a concentrated 36° cone of crisp, neutral light ideal for accent lighting, task zones or highlighting artwork. The narrow beam creates definition and contrast rather than broad ambient fill, making it perfect for directional downlighting in kitchens, galleries or display areas.

    Questions

What dimmer switches work with the Nimbus Pro GU10 bulb?

The Nimbus Pro requires a leading edge (TRIAC) dimmer switch to function properly. Standard rotary or trailing edge dimmers may cause flickering or buzzing. If you're installing a new dimmer, check it's labelled as leading edge or TRIAC-compatible and rated for LED loads of at least 6W.

How bright is 575 lumens and what halogen wattage does it replace?

At 575 lumens, this 6W LED bulb replaces a traditional 80W halogen GU10 while using 92% less energy. It's bright enough for task lighting in kitchens, workspaces, or spotlighting where you need focused illumination. The 36-degree beam angle concentrates the light rather than spreading it wide.

What does CRI97 mean and why does it matter?

CRI (Colour Rendering Index) measures how accurately a light source shows true colours, with 100 being perfect natural daylight. At CRI97, the Nimbus Pro renders colours with exceptional accuracy—crucial for kitchens where you're judging food freshness, art studios, or anywhere precise colour matching matters. Standard LEDs typically sit around CRI80-85.

Is 4000K neutral white too cold or clinical for living rooms?

4000K sits between warm white (2700-3000K) and cool daylight (5000K+), offering a crisp, clean light without the blue harshness of clinical environments. It's ideal for task-focused areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and home offices, but may feel too stark for cosy living rooms or bedrooms where warmer tones (2700-3000K) are typically preferred.

Will this GU10 fit my existing spotlight fittings?

Yes, the Nimbus Pro uses the standard GU10 twist-and-lock base that's universal across UK mains-voltage spotlight fittings. At 52mm tall, it fits nearly all recessed and surface GU10 holders. Simply twist your old bulb anticlockwise to remove, then push the new bulb in and twist clockwise until it locks.

What's covered under the 5-year warranty?

The 5-year warranty covers manufacturing defects, premature failure, and component faults under normal domestic use. It doesn't cover damage from incorrect installation, use with incompatible dimmers, or accidental breakage. Keep your proof of purchase, as you'll need it to make a claim if the bulb fails within the warranty period.

    The Enso Standard

Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.

    Lighting, considered.

    01

    Chosen, not stocked

For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.

Curation is mostly the art of saying no.

    02

    Held to one standard

Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.

The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.

    03

    Nothing left to guess

Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.

The spec sheet is the love letter.

    04

    Backed, properly

Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.

A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
