Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
What type of dimmer switch do I need for the Kanto LED module?
The Kanto requires a leading edge (TRIAC) dimmer switch to operate correctly when dimming. Standard rotary or trailing edge dimmers won't be compatible and may cause flickering or buzzing. Ensure your dimmer is rated for LED loads and has a minimum load lower than 8W, as some older dimmers designed for halogen bulbs may not dim LEDs reliably at low wattages.
Do I need an electrician to install this LED module and driver?
Yes, installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with Part P of the Building Regulations, as this is a mains-voltage hardwired Class I fitting. The module and driver connect directly to your 230V mains supply and require proper earthing. DIY installation is not permitted unless you are a competent person registered with a self-certification scheme.
Can I use this module in a bathroom or ensuite?
No, the Kanto has an IP20 rating which means it offers no protection against moisture and is unsuitable for bathrooms. For bathroom zones, you'll need a fitting rated at least IP44 (IP65 for shower zones). This module is designed for dry indoor locations only, such as living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens.
What's the difference between 3000K and 4000K, and which should I choose?
3000K produces a warm white light with a slightly golden tone, ideal for creating cosy atmospheres in living rooms, bedrooms and dining areas. 4000K delivers a neutral white that's crisper and more energising, better suited to kitchens, studies and task-oriented spaces. Both colour temperatures offer the same CRI90+ colour rendering, so your choice depends purely on the mood and function of the room.
How bright is 960 lumens, and what size room will it light?
At 960 lumens, this 8W module produces roughly the equivalent of a traditional 60-75W incandescent bulb. It's suitable for accent lighting, task lighting over worktops, or supplementary illumination in smaller rooms up to around 8-10 square metres. For primary lighting in larger living spaces, you'd typically install multiple modules or combine with other light sources.
Can I replace just the LED module if it fails, or do I need to replace the whole unit?
The Kanto is sold as a complete module and driver kit, and both components are replaceable separately if one fails. The LED module itself is integrated (non-replaceable bulb), so if the LEDs fail you'd replace the entire module unit rather than individual bulbs. The fitting is covered by a 5-year warranty, so any manufacturing faults within that period would be covered.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
