Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Does this GU10 LED bulb work with dimmer switches?
Yes, the Nimbus Pro is fully dimmable and compatible with leading edge (TRIAC) dimmer switches, which are the most common type fitted in UK homes. It dims smoothly from full 575 lumens down to a warm glow without flickering. If you experience any compatibility issues, check that your dimmer is rated for LED loads rather than older halogen-only models.
What does CRI 97 mean and why does it matter?
CRI (Colour Rendering Index) measures how accurately a light source reveals true colours, rated out of 100. The Nimbus Pro's CRI of 97+ is exceptional — comparable to gallery lighting — meaning reds, greens, skin tones and fabric textures appear vibrant and natural rather than washed out. This is particularly valuable in living rooms, bedrooms, or anywhere you display artwork, textiles or want flattering light for people.
How bright is 575 lumens and what's the equivalent wattage?
At 575 lumens, this 6W LED bulb is roughly equivalent to a traditional 50W halogen GU10 in brightness. The 36-degree beam angle provides focused accent lighting rather than broad room illumination, making it well-suited for spotlights, downlights, picture lighting or reading lamps. For general room lighting, you'd typically use multiple bulbs in a track or recessed fitting.
Will this fit my existing GU10 downlight fittings?
Yes, this is a standard GU10 fitting with the familiar twist-and-lock bayonet base used across UK downlights and spotlights. At 52mm height and 40g weight, it fits comfortably in most recessed ceiling fittings. Simply twist out your old GU10 bulb and push this one in with a quarter-turn clockwise — no electrician or rewiring needed.
Can I use this GU10 bulb in a bathroom or outdoors?
No, the Nimbus Pro is rated for indoor use only and lacks an IP rating for moisture or weather protection. It's not suitable for bathroom zones, outdoor fittings, or anywhere exposed to steam or the elements. For bathrooms or outdoors, you'll need a purpose-built IP44+ rated bulb or enclosed fitting.
