Yes, this is a hardwired Class I fitting that must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The light connects directly to your mains wiring and requires an earth connection, so it's not a plug-in fixture. Installation difficulty is rated as moderate, and all necessary mounting screws and plugs are included in the box.
Can I replace the LED bulbs in this wall light?
No, the Akra features integrated LED technology, which means the LED module is built into the fitting and cannot be replaced like a traditional bulb. Integrated LEDs typically last 15,000–25,000 hours depending on usage, which equates to many years of normal household use. If the LEDs eventually fail after this lifespan, the entire unit would need replacing rather than just a bulb.
Is this linear wall light dimmable?
The product specifications do not indicate dimming capability, so this fitting should be treated as non-dimmable. Installing it on a dimmer circuit could cause flickering, buzzing, or damage to the integrated LED driver.
