Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Akra 80cm wall light require an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a hardwired Class I fitting that must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The light connects directly to your mains wiring and requires an earth connection, so it's not a plug-in fixture. Installation difficulty is rated as moderate, and all necessary mounting screws and plugs are included in the box.
Can I replace the LED bulbs in this wall light?
No, the Akra features integrated LED technology, which means the LED module is built into the fitting and cannot be replaced like a traditional bulb. Integrated LEDs typically last 15,000–25,000 hours depending on usage, which equates to many years of normal household use. If the LEDs eventually fail after this lifespan, the entire unit would need replacing rather than just a bulb.
Is this linear wall light dimmable?
The product specifications do not indicate dimming capability, so this fitting should be treated as non-dimmable. Installing it on a dimmer circuit could cause flickering, buzzing, or damage to the integrated LED driver. If you require dimmable wall lighting, you'll need to look for a fitting that explicitly states dimmable compatibility in its specifications.
How wide does the Akra protrude from the wall?
The fitting is 23mm wide, making it an exceptionally slim profile that sits almost flush against the wall surface. At 80cm in height, it creates a slender vertical column of light without protruding significantly into the room, ideal for hallways, staircases, or flanking doorways where space is limited.
Can this wall light be used in a bathroom?
No, this fitting has an IP20 rating, which means it offers no moisture protection and is suitable only for dry indoor locations. For bathroom use, you'd need a minimum of IP44 (or IP65 for shower zones), so the Akra is better suited to hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, or dining areas away from water sources.
What warranty does this antiqued LED wall light come with?
The Akra is covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty and is both CE marked and RoHS compliant, meeting UK safety and environmental standards. The fitting is manufactured in Turkey by our Turkish design house. Any warranty claims would typically need to be made through your point of purchase within the warranty period.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
From Europe’s quiet workshops
Copenhagen brass, Milanese plaster, hand-woven French rattan — small independent design houses, named by place, plainly.
Designed in Europe. Named honestly.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
