Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Does the Arvo rechargeable picture light need to be wired in by an electrician?
No, the Arvo is entirely rechargeable and requires no electrical wiring whatsoever. You simply mount it to the wall using the included screws and plugs, then charge it via the supplied USB-C cable when the battery runs low. This makes it ideal for renters or anyone wanting to avoid the cost and disruption of hiring a Part P certified electrician.
How long does the battery last on a single charge?
Battery life will depend on your usage pattern and the brightness level you select via the touch dimmer. At full brightness (3W, 234 lumens), expect several hours of continuous use, whilst dimmed settings will extend runtime considerably. The included 2-metre USB-C cable makes recharging straightforward from any standard USB power adapter.
What colour temperature does this picture light produce?
The Arvo emits a warm white light at 3000K, which is the standard for gallery and museum lighting. This colour temperature enhances warm tones in artwork, photographs and oil paintings without distorting colours, and creates an inviting, cosy ambiance in living rooms, hallways and bedrooms.
Can I replace the LED bulb when it eventually fails?
No, the Arvo uses integrated LEDs that are built into the fitting and cannot be replaced. However, quality LEDs typically last 15,000–25,000 hours, which translates to many years of normal use. The 3W LED output provides 234 lumens, more than sufficient for illuminating artwork and picture frames.
What size picture frame or artwork will this light suit?
At 350mm wide and 120mm tall, the Arvo is best suited to small-to-medium artworks, typically frames between 40cm and 70cm in width. The 234-lumen output and narrow beam angle focus light downwards onto the piece rather than flooding the whole wall, so it's designed for accent lighting rather than general room illumination.
Is this picture light suitable for bathrooms?
No, the Arvo has an IP20 rating, which means it offers no protection against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor locations. Bathrooms require a minimum of IPX4 for zones 2 and 3, so this fitting should be used in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways or dining rooms instead.
