Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Halden bollard light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, this is a hardwired outdoor lighting fixture and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The bollard requires a mains connection at 220-240V and involves outdoor electrical work, which falls under notifiable electrical installation. Installation difficulty is rated as moderate, and you'll need to ensure appropriate weatherproof cabling and connectors are used for the outdoor environment.
Is this bollard light bright enough to light a garden path?
The Halden produces 430 lumens from its 6W integrated LED, which provides sufficient illumination for pathway marking and ground-level accent lighting rather than broad area lighting. At 3000K warm white, it casts a welcoming ambient glow ideal for guiding movement along borders, driveways and patios. For a typical residential path, you'd likely need bollards spaced every 3-4 metres to maintain consistent visibility.
Can I use this bollard light in all outdoor weather conditions?
Yes, the Halden is rated IP65, meaning it's fully protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for year-round outdoor use in typical UK weather including rain, though it's not designed for submersion or installation in areas prone to flooding. It's ideal for garden soil, lawn, borders and gravel installations as specified.
Can the Halden bollard be dimmed?
No, this bollard light is not dimmable. The integrated 6W LED driver does not support dimming functionality, so it will always operate at full 430-lumen output when switched on. If you require adjustable lighting levels for your garden, you would need to look at a different fixture with dimmable integrated LEDs or compatible external dimming controls.
What happens when the LED stops working — can I replace the bulb?
The Halden uses an integrated LED module rather than a replaceable bulb, so the LED cannot be changed by the end user. Integrated LEDs typically last 25,000-50,000 hours (roughly 15-30 years of typical evening use), so replacement is rarely needed during the fixture's lifetime. If the LED does fail prematurely, the entire bollard would need to be replaced or the module serviced by the manufacturer.
How tall is this bollard and will it stand out in a flower bed?
The Halden stands 650mm tall (65cm) with a slender 60mm diameter profile, making it visible but unobtrusive in garden borders and beds. At this height, it sits below knee level for most adults, providing effective path marking without dominating sightlines across your garden. The matt black finish helps it blend naturally into evening landscapes whilst the cylindrical shape adds contemporary architectural detail during daylight hours.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
