Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Lucia bollard light require an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a hardwired Class I outdoor light that must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The installation involves connecting mains voltage wiring and ensuring proper earthing, which legally requires professional electrical work. The bollard includes all necessary mounting hardware, but the electrical connection must be carried out by a competent person.
Is IP44 sufficient for a garden pathway bollard light in all weather?
Yes, the IP44 rating means this bollard is fully protected against solid objects over 1mm and splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for garden pathways, patios, and driveways. However, it should not be installed in areas prone to submersion or heavy water jets. For typical UK garden conditions including rain and damp, IP44 provides adequate weather protection for ground-level pathway lighting.
What type of bulb does this bollard take and can it be dimmed?
The Lucia bollard uses a standard E27 Edison Screw bulb with a maximum wattage of 40W, giving you flexibility to choose LED, halogen, or traditional incandescent bulbs. Dimming capability depends entirely on the bulb you select and whether you install a compatible dimmer switch during installation—the fitting itself does not restrict dimming. An E27 LED bulb would be the most energy-efficient choice for pathway lighting.
What are the exact dimensions and how far does the light spread?
The bollard stands 60cm tall with a diameter of 12cm, making it an ideal height for pathway edging without obstructing views. Light spread will depend on the bulb chosen, but with a single E27 lampholder rated up to 40W, expect a localised pool of light suitable for marking pathways rather than wide-area illumination. For continuous pathway lighting, position multiple bollards approximately 2-3 metres apart.
Can this bollard be installed directly into grass or soil?
Not directly—whilst the bollard is suitable for garden pathways, it requires a solid base for proper installation. For grass or soil areas, you'll need to create a concrete foundation first to provide stable mounting and protect the electrical connections. The light can be installed directly onto existing hard surfaces like concrete, paving slabs, stone, or decking where a secure fixing is possible.
What is the operating temperature range for this outdoor bollard?
This bollard is rated to operate in temperatures from -20°C to +40°C, which comfortably covers all typical UK weather conditions throughout the year. The stainless steel and polycarbonate construction is designed to withstand frost, snow, and summer heat without degradation. This temperature range ensures reliable performance even during harsh winter conditions or unusually warm summer days.

The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
