Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the DL20 path light require an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a hardwired outdoor fitting and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Part P Building Regulations. The installation involves connecting mains cables underground or via external conduit to your outdoor lighting circuit. The pack includes mounting screws and plugs for securing the bollard to concrete or paving, but the electrical connection must be certified by a competent person.
What type of bulb does this 80cm path light use and is it included?
The DL20 uses a single G9 capsule bulb, which is not included with the fitting. You'll need to purchase a G9 bulb separately—LED G9 bulbs are recommended for outdoor use due to their energy efficiency and longevity. Ensure the bulb you choose is suitable for enclosed outdoor fittings and check the maximum wattage rating on the instruction manual.
Is this path light dimmable?
Yes, the DL20 is dimmable when used with a compatible dimmable G9 LED bulb and a suitable dimmer switch on your lighting circuit. Both the bulb and the dimmer must be compatible with each other to avoid flickering or buzzing. Always check that your chosen G9 bulb is explicitly marked as dimmable.
Is IP44 suitable for exposed outdoor locations in the UK?
Yes, the IP44 rating means this path light is protected against solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for garden pathways, driveways, and borders. It will withstand typical UK rain and garden moisture, though it's not suitable for areas with standing water or direct water jets. Position it away from sprinklers or areas prone to flooding.
What are the exact dimensions of this bollard light?
The DL20 stands 80cm (800mm) tall with a width and depth of 20cm (200mm each), creating a slender cylindrical profile. It weighs 1.03kg, making it stable once mounted but light enough for straightforward installation. These proportions make it ideal for lining pathways without overwhelming garden beds or narrow borders.
How much space should I leave between multiple path lights?
Spacing depends on the wattage and beam angle of your chosen G9 bulb, but a general guide for 80cm bollards is 2.5 to 4 metres apart for continuous pathway illumination. For a more dramatic effect with distinct pools of light, space them 4 to 6 metres apart. Consider testing the first light at dusk to assess the spread before installing additional fittings.

The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
