Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
What IP rating does the Hadsten outdoor wall light have?
The product specifications don't list a specific IP rating, so we recommend confirming this detail before purchase if you need the fitting for a particularly exposed location. For general outdoor use under eaves or covered porches, most outdoor-rated wall lights perform well, but if you're installing it in a fully exposed position subject to direct heavy rain, you'll want to ensure it has at least an IP44 rating or higher.
What type of bulb does this wall light require?
The Hadsten uses a standard E27 screw fitting, which gives you flexibility to choose any E27 bulb to suit your needs. You can opt for LED, halogen, or traditional incandescent bulbs (though LED is most energy-efficient for outdoor use). Simply ensure your chosen bulb is suitable for outdoor conditions and doesn't exceed the maximum wattage stated in the instruction manual.
Can I install this outdoor wall light myself or do I need an electrician?
Under UK Building Regulations Part P, outdoor lighting installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician or registered competent person, as outdoor circuits are notifiable work. The fitting comes with mounting screws and plugs for the physical installation, but the electrical connection to your mains supply must be completed by a professional to ensure safety and compliance.
Is the Hadsten wall light dimmable?
Dimmability depends entirely on the bulb you choose to use with the E27 fitting, as the specifications don't indicate the fitting itself has dimming restrictions. If you fit a dimmable LED or halogen E27 bulb and have a compatible dimmer switch installed on the circuit, you'll be able to dim the light. Always check your chosen bulb's packaging to confirm it's marked as dimmable.
What are the dimensions of this matt black wall light?
The specific dimensions aren't provided in the product specifications shown. We recommend checking the full product listing or contacting customer service for exact measurements before purchase, especially if you're working with limited wall space or need to ensure it suits a particular location such as beside a narrow doorway or between windows.
Does this down light create enough illumination for a front door area?
As a down light design, the Hadsten creates a focused downward cone of light rather than wide ambient illumination, making it ideal for highlighting pathways, architectural features, or creating atmospheric pools of light. The actual brightness will depend on which E27 bulb you install—for a well-lit front door, consider using an LED bulb of around 800-1000 lumens (equivalent to a 60-75W traditional bulb). For purely decorative accent lighting, a lower lumen output would suffice.

The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
