Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

How It Lights Your Space
Paintable Up & Down Wall Wash
Twin beams project light both upwards and downwards, creating a clean symmetrical wash that grazes the wall surface to draw out texture in render, brick, stone or plaster. The result is a sophisticated architectural effect ideal for exterior façades, entranceways, courtyards, hospitality frontages and interior feature walls.
Frequently Asked Questions
What bulbs does the Corvo wall light require and are they included?
The product specifications don't list bulb requirements or inclusion details, so you'll need to check the installation instructions included in the box or contact the retailer before purchase. Most plaster wall sconces of this type use either G9 capsule bulbs or GU10 spotlights, but it's essential to confirm the specific fitting type and maximum wattage for the Corvo to avoid compatibility issues.
Can this wall light be painted to match my wall colour?
Yes, the Corvo features a plaster finish specifically designed to be paintable, allowing you to match it to your exact wall colour for seamless integration. Use standard emulsion paint and apply thin, even coats to avoid clogging any textured detail in the plaster casting. Allow the paint to fully dry before installing bulbs and switching on.
Do I need an electrician to install this wall light?
Under UK Building Regulations Part P, any new electrical circuit work or modifications in special locations must be certified, and it's strongly recommended to use a qualified electrician for all mains-voltage wall light installations. The Corvo comes with a mounting bracket and fixings, but hardwiring into your mains supply should only be carried out by someone competent in electrical work. If you're simply replacing an existing wall light on the same circuit, a competent DIYer may proceed, but professional installation ensures safety and compliance.
What are the dimensions of this wall sconce?
The Corvo measures 300mm wide by 122mm high, making it a relatively compact fixture suitable for standard-width hallways and smaller wall spaces. Its modest height means it sits close to the wall without protruding significantly, creating its up-down lighting effect without dominating the space visually.
Is this wall light dimmable?
Dimming capability depends on the bulbs you use rather than the fitting itself, as the specifications don't indicate any integrated LED or fixed dimming circuitry. If you install dimmable bulbs and have a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit, the Corvo can be dimmed. Always check that your bulbs are marked as dimmable and match them to the correct dimmer type (trailing edge for LEDs, leading edge for halogen).
Can I use this plaster wall light in a bathroom?
The specifications don't list an IP rating for the Corvo, which means it's not certified for use in bathroom zones where moisture protection is required. It's suitable only for dry interior locations such as hallways, living rooms, and bedrooms. For bathrooms, you'll need a wall light with an appropriate IP rating (at least IP44 or IP65 depending on the zone).
