Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does this wall light need to be installed by a qualified electrician?
Yes, the Bianca is a hardwired fitting and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with Part P of the Building Regulations. It's a Class I fitting requiring mains connection and earth, typically mounted to a standard BESA box. DIY installation is not permitted for mains electrical work in the UK.
What bulbs do I need for this up and down wall light?
This fitting requires two E14 SES (Small Edison Screw) bulbs, with a maximum wattage of 40W per socket. Bulbs are not included, so you'll need to purchase them separately. You can use LED, halogen, or traditional incandescent E14 bulbs up to the wattage limit.
Can this wall light be used with a dimmer switch?
Yes, this wall light is dimmable, but you'll need to ensure both your dimmer switch and the bulbs you purchase are compatible. LED bulbs require a trailing-edge dimmer designed for LEDs, whilst halogen bulbs work with standard dimmers. Always check the bulb packaging confirms it's dimmable before purchasing.
What are the dimensions and how far does it stick out from the wall?
The Bianca measures 300mm wide, 100mm high, and projects 150mm from the wall. This relatively shallow depth makes it suitable for narrower hallways and corridors without protruding too far into the space. The recommended mounting height is 1.5–1.8m from the floor for optimal visual effect.
Can I use this plaster wall light in a bathroom?
No, this fitting is rated IP20, which means it's suitable for indoor dry locations only and offers no protection against moisture. It cannot be used in bathrooms or any zone-rated wet areas. For bathrooms, you'll need a fitting with a minimum IP44 rating depending on the zone.
Can I paint this wall light to match my wall colour?
Yes, the plaster finish is specifically designed to be paintable, allowing you to match it perfectly to your wall colour or décor scheme. Use standard emulsion paint and apply thin, even coats to avoid clogging the plaster texture. This creates a seamless, architectural look where the fitting blends into the wall when not illuminated.

The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
