01 / The feeling
Designed to Disappear
Pack of 10 — £21 a light. Ten Kanto housings for £1 a light less than buying them one at a time, enough for an open-plan kitchen or a long hallway. Light sources are sold separately: choose GU10 lamps or LED modules for all ten above in one go.
A trimless, plaster-in downlight that vanishes into your ceiling while quietly transforming how you experience a room. The Kanto's tiltable gimbal lets you angle light precisely where you want it — grazing architectural details, highlighting artwork, or washing a wall with subtle drama. Because it shares the same flush aperture as its fixed counterpart, you can mix both styles across your ceiling for a beautifully consistent look that feels intentional and refined.
Built with an anti-glare aperture and fire-rated construction, this downlight combines thoughtful design with reassuring safety standards. The twist-and-lock body means tool-free access for maintenance, whilst IP65 protection guards against dust and moisture. Accepts either GU10 lamps or dedicated LED modules, giving you flexibility as your needs evolve. Fully compliant with UK standards and backed by a two-year warranty.

A small footprint.
A lasting impression.
Just 9 cm wide, with a 4 cm drop. Enough presence to anchor a table, small enough to live under.
Try the size before you buy
Mark a 9 cm circle on the floor with removable tape and look up from where you will sit. It hangs 11 cm below the ceiling — hold a tape measure up to check the headroom.

Good to know
A few questions,
before it comes home.
Does this trimless downlight require a qualified electrician to install?
Yes, the Kanto is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The installation involves connecting mains cables directly to the fitting, which is classed as notifiable electrical work. While rated as moderate difficulty for a professional, this isn't a DIY job unless you're a certified sparks.
Can I use this downlight in a bathroom or shower room?
Yes, with an IP65 rating the Kanto is fully protected against water jets and can be installed in bathroom zones 1 and 2 (directly above a bath or shower). Just ensure your electrician follows the specific zoning requirements in BS 7671 (18th Edition wiring regulations) for the exact placement in your bathroom.
What GU10 bulb should I use and can it be dimmed?
The fitting accepts any GU10 bulb up to 7W maximum (ideal for LED), and yes, it's dimmable using a leading edge (TRIAC) dimmer switch. Make sure you choose a dimmable GU10 LED bulb and pair it with a compatible LED dimmer — non-dimmable bulbs will flicker or fail when dimmed. The bulb is not included, so you'll need to purchase one separately.
What are the cut-out dimensions for installation in a plasterboard ceiling?
The visible aperture is 87 mm wide, but you'll need to account for a total ceiling void depth of 106 mm and a height of 39 mm for the fitting body. Your electrician will cut the aperture into bare plasterboard, install the fitting, then skim plaster over the trim so it disappears flush with your ceiling finish — hence the 'trimless plaster-in' design.
How much can I tilt the light and what's the beam angle like?
The Kanto features a tiltable gimbal mechanism that allows you to angle the GU10 lamp to direct light precisely onto artwork, architectural features, or walls. The exact tilt range and beam angle depend on the GU10 bulb you choose — narrow spot bulbs (e.g. 36°) give focused accent lighting, while wider flood bulbs (e.g. 60°) provide more general illumination.
What warranty does this downlight come with?
The Kanto trimless downlight is covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. It's also CE marked and RoHS compliant, meeting UK safety and environmental standards. Keep your proof of purchase in case you need to make a claim during the warranty period.
