Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Does the Aurelia ceiling light need to be installed by a qualified electrician?
Yes, installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician as this is a Class I hardwired ceiling fitting. Under Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales, fixed electrical work in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoors must be certified, and many electricians recommend professional installation for all ceiling lights to ensure safe connection to your mains circuit.
Can this LED ceiling light be dimmed, and what type of dimmer switch do I need?
Yes, the Aurelia is fully dimmable, but you'll need a trailing-edge (LED-compatible) dimmer switch for smooth, flicker-free performance. Standard rotary dimmers designed for incandescent bulbs may cause buzzing or flickering. Check that your dimmer is rated for LED loads and compatible with the 36W power draw of this fitting.
Can the LED bulbs be replaced when they stop working?
No, this fitting uses integrated LEDs which are built into the unit and cannot be replaced separately. Integrated LEDs typically last 15,000–25,000 hours (around 15–20 years of normal use), after which the entire fitting would need replacing. The advantage is a slimmer, more seamless design without visible bulb sockets.
Is this gold ceiling light suitable for bathroom use?
No, the Aurelia has an IP20 rating, which means it offers no protection against moisture and is suitable for dry indoor areas only. Bathrooms require fittings rated IP44 or higher depending on the zone, so this light should be installed in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, or dining rooms instead.
