Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Do I need an electrician to install the Senna ribbed ceiling light?
Yes, as this is a hardwired Class I ceiling light connected directly to mains electricity, installation must comply with Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales. Unless you're a qualified electrician or competent person, you'll need to hire a registered sparks to fit it safely and certify the work. The fitting mounts to a standard ceiling rose or BESA box.
Can this ceiling light be dimmed, and what type of dimmer do I need?
Yes, the Senna is fully dimmable. Because it has an integrated LED, you'll need a trailing-edge (electronic) dimmer switch specifically rated for LED loads—standard incandescent dimmers won't work properly and may cause flickering. Check that your dimmer is compatible with the 24W load and designed for dimmable LEDs.
Can I replace the LED bulb when it eventually fails?
No, this fitting uses an integrated LED module rather than replaceable bulbs. The 24W LED is built into the unit and designed to last many thousands of hours (typically 15,000–25,000). When the LED eventually reaches end of life, the entire fitting will need replacing, though this shouldn't be necessary for many years with normal domestic use.
Is this light suitable for a bathroom or shower room?
No, the Senna has an IP20 rating, which means it's not protected against moisture ingress and is only suitable for dry indoor locations. For bathrooms, you'd need at least IP44 (or IP65 in shower zones), so this fitting should be kept to living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and other areas away from water.
What colour temperature does this ceiling light produce?
This fitting emits warm white light at 2700K, which creates a cosy, traditional glow similar to old incandescent bulbs. It's ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, and dining areas where you want a relaxing, homely atmosphere rather than the cooler, crisper light (4000K+) typically used in kitchens or task lighting.
What size room is the Senna ribbed ceiling light suitable for?
At 24W, this LED flush fitting produces roughly 1,900–2,400 lumens (equivalent to a 150W–200W incandescent bulb), making it suitable as main lighting for medium-sized rooms such as average bedrooms, studies, or small lounges up to around 12–15 square metres. The ribbed dome design provides pleasant diffused light across the space.
