Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

What type of bulb does the Linelle bamboo pendant take and is it included?
The Linelle uses a standard E27 screw-in bulb, which is not included in the box. This gives you complete freedom to choose your preferred brightness (we'd suggest 470-806 lumens for most spaces) and colour temperature—2700K for warm ambient light or 3000K for a crisper feel. Any E27 LED, halogen, or filament-style bulb will fit.
Can I use this pendant with a dimmer switch?
Dimming depends entirely on the bulb you choose, not the fitting itself. If you install a dimmable E27 LED bulb and have a compatible LED dimmer switch already wired in, the Linelle will dim beautifully. Just ensure your bulb is explicitly marked as dimmable—non-dimmable LEDs will flicker or fail on a dimmer circuit.
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant light?
Under UK Building Regulations Part P, installing or replacing light fittings in kitchens, bathrooms, or creating a new lighting circuit requires a qualified electrician or notification to Building Control. If you're simply swapping an existing pendant fitting in a living room or bedroom and you're competent with basic wiring, you can do it yourself, but always isolate the mains first. When in doubt, hire a registered spark.
What are the exact dimensions of the 40cm bamboo shade?
The shade measures 40cm in diameter, making it a generously sized pendant that works brilliantly over dining tables (seats 4-6) or kitchen islands. The exact drop height will depend on your ceiling rose and how much flex you use, but plan for around 25-30cm from ceiling to the base of the shade as a typical installation.
Does the openwork bamboo design give enough light for a dining table?
The Linelle's woven openwork design is intended for ambient lighting and creating beautiful shadow patterns rather than bright task lighting. Pair it with a 600-800 lumen E27 bulb for pleasant dining ambience, but if you need focused light for reading or food prep, consider adding secondary spots or wall lights to supplement.
Can this bamboo pendant be used in a bathroom?
No, the Linelle has no IP rating and is unsuitable for bathrooms. Natural bamboo and moisture don't mix well, and UK bathroom zones require minimum IP44 rating (IPX4 for Zone 2, higher for Zones 0-1). Stick to living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, or hallways where humidity stays low.
