Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

What type of bulb does the Naty rattan pendant take and is it included?
The Naty uses a standard E27 screw-in bulb, which is not included in the box. This gives you full flexibility to choose your preferred brightness (we'd suggest 600-800 lumens for a dining table) and colour temperature—2700K for warm ambient light or 3000K for a slightly crisper feel. Any E27 LED, halogen, or filament-style bulb will fit.
Can I use this pendant light with a dimmer switch?
The fitting itself is compatible with dimming, but you'll need to fit a dimmable E27 bulb and ensure your dimmer switch is appropriate for the bulb type you choose (most modern LED dimmers work well). The natural rattan weave looks particularly atmospheric when dimmed in the evening, softening the shadows cast across your walls.
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant light?
Under UK Building Regulations Part P, you can replace an existing pendant fitting yourself on a like-for-like basis without notifying Building Control, provided you're competent and turn off the circuit at the consumer unit first. However, if you're installing a new lighting circuit or ceiling point, or if you're unsure about the existing wiring, you must use a qualified electrician or registered competent person.
What are the exact dimensions and how low will it hang?
The shade itself is 60cm in diameter, making it a substantial statement piece ideal for tables 120-180cm long or open-plan living areas. The hanging height will depend on your ceiling rose position and the cable length you leave—most installations suit a drop of 50-80cm from ceiling to the bottom of the shade, but you can adjust the cable during fitting to suit your space.
Will the woven rattan provide enough light for a dining table?
The open rattan weave allows plenty of light through while creating decorative shadow patterns, but the overall brightness depends entirely on the E27 bulb you choose. For a dining table, we'd recommend a 7-10W LED (equivalent to 60-75W incandescent) producing 600-800 lumens—this gives ample task light without glare, while the weave softens and diffuses the glow beautifully.
Can I use this pendant in a bathroom or outdoors?
No, this is an unrated natural rattan shade designed for dry indoor locations only—living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and hallways. It has no IP rating and the natural fibres are not suitable for damp or wet environments, so it's not appropriate for bathrooms, covered patios, or any outdoor use.
