Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
What type of bulb does the Nuffa rattan pendant take and is it included?
The Nuffa requires a standard E27 Edison screw bulb, which is not included in the box. You'll need to purchase one separately—we'd recommend a 4-6W LED bulb for cosy ambient lighting, or up to 10W if you need brighter task lighting. The openwork rattan design works beautifully with warm white (2700K) filament-style bulbs that enhance the natural aesthetic.
Can this rattan pendant be used with a dimmer switch?
Whether the Nuffa can be dimmed depends entirely on the bulb you choose, as the pendant itself is compatible with dimming. If you install a dimmable E27 LED bulb and have a compatible LED dimmer switch already fitted, you'll be able to adjust the brightness. Note that not all LED bulbs dim smoothly, so check the bulb packaging confirms it's specifically designed for dimming.
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant light?
If you're simply replacing an existing pendant light fitting with the Nuffa, this is generally considered minor work that a competent person can do under Part P regulations—just ensure the circuit is isolated at the consumer unit first. However, if you're installing a new ceiling point or altering the circuit in any way, you must use a qualified electrician or notify Building Control. Always follow the included installation instructions and work safely.
What are the exact dimensions and how low does it hang?
The rattan shade itself is 20cm in diameter, making it ideal for smaller spaces, bedside tables, or clustering multiple fittings together. The total drop height depends on the length of flex or rod you use—this is typically adjustable during installation, but you'll need to check what's supplied or whether you need to purchase additional suspension components separately. The compact size means it won't overwhelm tight spaces or low ceilings.
Can I use this rattan pendant light in a bathroom?
No, the Nuffa is not suitable for bathroom use as it has no IP rating and the natural rattan material is not designed for humid environments. Bathrooms require lights with appropriate IP ratings (at minimum IP44 for zones 1 and 2), and this openwork pendant offers no protection against moisture ingress. Stick to dry living areas, bedrooms, hallways, or dining spaces instead.
Is the rattan pendant suitable for clustering multiple lights together?
Yes, the compact 20cm size makes the Nuffa ideal for creating a cluster arrangement over kitchen islands or dining tables. Just ensure each pendant has adequate spacing (typically 30-40cm between centres) so the shades don't touch or crowd each other. You'll need either a multi-outlet ceiling plate or separate ceiling points for each light, which may require an electrician if you're adding new circuit points.
