Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Does the Varna outdoor wall light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, this is a hardwired fitting that must be connected directly to your mains supply, so installation falls under Part P of the Building Regulations. You'll need a qualified electrician or competent person to carry out the work and certify it. The light is supplied with an integral driver, so no separate driver installation is required.
Is this wall light suitable for outdoor use in all weather?
Yes, the Varna has an IP54 rating, which means it's protected against dust and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for most outdoor locations including porches, patios and garden walls. It can operate in temperatures from -20°C to 40°C. However, avoid positioning it where it will be subject to direct high-pressure water jets or full submersion.
Can I dim this LED wall light?
No, this fitting is not dimmable. The integrated 10W LED operates at full brightness only, producing 770 lumens. If you require dimming functionality, you'll need to look for a different model with dimmable drivers.
Do I need to buy bulbs separately for this light?
No, the Varna features an integrated LED module that's built into the fitting, so there are no separate bulbs to purchase. The LED has a rated lifespan of 25,000 hours and cannot be replaced, meaning the entire fitting would eventually need replacing after this time, though this equates to many years of typical use.
What colour temperature does this wall light produce and can I change it?
This fitting has switchable CCT technology, allowing you to select between 3000K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white), or 6500K (daylight) using a switch on the fitting itself. This lets you adjust the light's appearance to suit your preference without needing different bulbs. Once set, it remains at your chosen colour temperature.
What are the dimensions of this outdoor wall light?
The Varna measures 180mm in height, 160mm in width, and projects 64mm from the wall. Its square shape and compact size make it suitable for flanking doorways or positioning on smaller wall spaces where a discreet up/down lighting effect is desired.
