The Elin uses a standard E27 Edison screw bulb with a maximum wattage of 12W. No bulb is included, so you'll need to purchase one separately. For best results with the fabric shade's soft diffusion, consider a warm white LED bulb (2700K-3000K) rated at up to 12W, which will provide ample illumination for most rooms.
Can I dim this pendant light and what type of dimmer do I need?
Yes, the Elin is dimmable when fitted with a dimmable E27 bulb. You'll need a trailing edge dimmer switch installed to control the brightness smoothly. Both the dimmer switch and a dimmable bulb are required—standard non-dimmable bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant light?
Yes, an electrician is required as this is a hardwired Class I fitting that must be permanently connected to your mains electrical supply. Under UK Building Regulations Part P, all fixed wiring work in dwellings must be carried out by a qualified person or notified to Building Control. The installation itself is rated as easy for a competent electrician and suits plasterboard, timber joist, or concrete ceilings.
