What type of bulb does the Hemi Linen Pendant Light take and is it included?
The Hemi uses a standard E27 screw bulb with a maximum wattage of 12W. The bulb is not included, so you'll need to purchase one separately. We recommend an E27 LED bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) to complement the beige linen shade and create a cosy ambiance.
Can I dim the Hemi pendant light?
Yes, the Hemi is dimmable provided you fit a compatible dimmable E27 bulb and install a trailing edge dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming functionality, but the bulb and dimmer switch are sold separately. Standard non-dimmable bulbs will not dim and may flicker if used with a dimmer.
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant light?
Yes, an electrician is required as the Hemi is hardwired directly to the mains. Under UK Building Regulations Part P, any fixed electrical work in dwellings must be completed by a qualified person or notified to Building Control. The installation itself is straightforward and suitable for plasterboard, timber joist, or concrete ceilings.
What are the dimensions and is the height adjustable?
The shade measures 540mm wide by 440mm deep, with a total drop of 1500mm from ceiling to bottom of the shade. The height is adjustable via the 1.5m cable, allowing you to shorten it to suit your ceiling height and table placement. This makes it ideal for standard dining tables or kitchen islands.
Can this pendant be used in a bathroom?
No, the Hemi has an IP20 rating, which means it's not protected against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor locations. For bathrooms, you'd need a fitting rated at least IP44 (or IP65 for shower zones), so this pendant is best reserved for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, or hallways.
What warranty does the Hemi Linen Pendant come with?
The Hemi comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty applies from the date of purchase and covers the fitting itself, though consumable items like bulbs are excluded. The product is CE marked and RoHS compliant, meeting all UK safety standards.
