Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this LED filament bulb compatible with dimmer switches?
Yes, the Lumi 4.5W filament bulb is fully dimmable and works with most standard LED-compatible dimmer switches. For best results, ensure your dimmer is rated for LED loads rather than older incandescent-only dimmers. If you experience flickering, you may need to replace your dimmer with a trailing-edge (electronic) model designed for low-wattage LEDs.
What colour temperature does this warm amber bulb produce?
This bulb emits a very warm white light at 2200K, which produces a soft amber glow similar to candlelight or traditional incandescent filament bulbs. This makes it ideal for creating a cosy, relaxed atmosphere in living rooms, bedrooms, or dining areas. The warm amber tone is significantly warmer than standard warm white (typically 2700-3000K).
What is the fitting size for this LED bulb?
The Lumi uses a standard E27 Edison Screw (ES) fitting, which is the most common large screw-in bulb base in UK homes. It will fit any lamp holder, pendant, or fixture designed for E27 bulbs. Simply screw it in clockwise until secure—no special installation required.
Can I use this bulb in a bathroom or wet room?
No, this bulb has an IP20 rating, which means it's only suitable for dry indoor locations with no moisture exposure. For bathrooms, you'll need a bulb rated at least IP44 (for zones 2-3) or IP65 (for zones 0-1 directly above baths or in shower enclosures). The Lumi is best suited for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and dining areas.
How bright is this 4.5W LED bulb compared to a traditional bulb?
At 4.5W, this LED filament bulb typically produces around 300-400 lumens, roughly equivalent to a 30-35W traditional incandescent bulb. The warm amber 2200K colour temperature creates ambient mood lighting rather than task lighting, so it's perfect for decorative fixtures and creating atmosphere, but you may want multiple bulbs or higher wattage for areas requiring brighter illumination.
What is the expected lifespan of this LED filament bulb?
LED filament bulbs like the Lumi typically last between 15,000 and 25,000 hours, which translates to roughly 10-20 years of normal household use (around 3-4 hours per day). This is significantly longer than traditional incandescent bulbs (1,000 hours) or halogen bulbs (2,000 hours), and the 4.5W consumption means lower running costs over the bulb's lifetime.
