Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
What type of bulb does the Nanzo XXL rattan pendant take and is it included?
The Nanzo requires a separate bulb, which is not included in the box. Based on the standard fitting for rattan pendants of this size, it will accommodate an E27 Edison screw bulb. We recommend a large globe or squirrel cage filament bulb to complement the open weave design, with a maximum wattage as specified on the lampholder inside the shade.
Can this pendant light be dimmed?
Dimming capability depends on the bulb you choose and whether your existing circuit has a compatible dimmer switch fitted. If you select a dimmable LED bulb and have a trailing-edge LED-compatible dimmer installed, the light output can be adjusted. The rattan shade itself does not restrict dimming functionality.
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant light?
If you're replacing an existing ceiling light fitting on the same circuit, this is not notifiable under Part P and can be installed by a competent person. However, if you're adding a new lighting point or are unsure about the existing wiring, you must use a qualified electrician. The pendant requires connection to mains ceiling wiring, typically via a ceiling rose or BESA box.
How much space do I need for an 85cm pendant—will it fit above my dining table?
At 85cm diameter, the Nanzo works best above dining tables of at least 160cm long, with a minimum room width of around 3 metres to avoid overwhelming the space. Allow at least 75–90cm clearance from the table surface to the bottom of the shade for comfortable headroom, and ensure there's sufficient space around it so it doesn't dominate narrower rooms.
Does the open weave design give enough light for a dining room?
The open weave creates ambient, atmospheric lighting with beautiful shadow patterns, but it diffuses the light considerably. For functional dining room illumination, pair it with a higher-output bulb (at least 800–1000 lumens) or consider supplementary lighting such as wall lights or downlights. It excels at creating mood rather than providing bright task lighting.
Is this rattan pendant suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?
No, this pendant has no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms (which require IP44 minimum in zones) or any outdoor or damp locations, as moisture will damage the natural rattan and the electrical components are not sealed against water ingress.
