Does the Naru pendant light require an electrician to install?
Yes, this fitting is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Part P Building Regulations. The installation itself is straightforward — it mounts to plasterboard, timber joists, or concrete ceilings — but connecting mains wiring always requires professional certification. The cable length is 1.5 metres and the height is adjustable during installation.
Can I dim the Naru travertine pendant light?
Yes, the Naru is fully dimmable when used with a trailing edge wall dimmer (not included). The fitting comes with 4 × 5W GU10 LED bulbs included, and provided these are dimmable LEDs, you'll be able to adjust the light output from your wall switch. Always check your dimmer is rated for LED loads and use trailing edge technology to avoid flickering.
What size dining table or kitchen island does this 4-spot pendant suit?
With a width of 750mm, the Naru works best over tables or islands between 1.2 and 2 metres long, where the four spots create evenly distributed pools of light. The linear arrangement and directional GU10 downlights make it ideal for task lighting in kitchens or ambient dining lighting. Hang it roughly 70–90cm above the table surface for comfortable, glare-free illumination.
Can I replace the bulbs, and what type do I need?
Yes, the bulbs are replaceable — this fitting uses standard GU10 bulbs with a maximum wattage of 5W per socket. Four GU10 LED bulbs are included with the pendant. When replacing them, choose GU10 LEDs rated at 5W or below, and ensure they're dimmable if you plan to use a dimmer switch.
Is the Naru pendant suitable for bathrooms?
No, this fitting is rated IP20, which means it's only suitable for dry indoor areas with no direct water exposure. IP20-rated lights are not safe for use in bathrooms or any zones where moisture or splashing may occur. Stick to living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, or kitchens away from sinks.
What's the total height from ceiling to the bottom of the pendants?
The maximum drop is 1500mm (1.5 metres) from ceiling to the lowest point of the shades, though the height is adjustable during installation via the cable. You can shorten the drop to suit your ceiling height and ensure the fitting hangs at the right level above your table or island without obstructing sightlines.
