Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Does the Kara stone-effect pendant need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, this fitting is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The pendant connects directly to your mains ceiling supply, typically via a BESA box or existing ceiling rose, and requires competent electrical work to ensure safe installation and earth continuity for this Class I fitting.
Can I dim the Kara sand beige pendant light?
Yes, the Kara is fully dimmable when used with a compatible dimmable E27 bulb and a trailing edge dimmer switch. You'll need to fit a dimmable LED bulb (up to 7W maximum) and ensure your dimmer is rated for LED loads. Note that the bulb is not included, so you'll need to purchase a dimmable E27 bulb separately.
What size bulb does this organic stone pendant take?
This pendant uses a standard E27 Edison screw bulb with a maximum wattage of 7W, which is typical for modern LED bulbs. The bulb is not included in the box, so you'll need to purchase an E27 LED separately. We recommend choosing a warm white (2700K-3000K) LED to complement the sand beige finish and create a cosy ambient glow.
How big is the Kara pendant and how much ceiling height do I need?
The shade measures 600mm wide by 500mm deep, making it a generously sized statement piece ideal for dining tables or kitchen islands. With a 2-metre cable length, you have flexibility to adjust the drop height during installation, though you'll need adequate ceiling height to avoid the pendant hanging too low—typically at least 2.4m floor-to-ceiling for comfortable clearance over a dining table.
Is this stone-effect pendant suitable for a bathroom?
No, this pendant is rated IP20 and designed for indoor use in dry areas only. It is not suitable for bathrooms or any zones where moisture or water splashes are present. For bathroom lighting, you'll need a fitting with a minimum IP44 rating (IP65 for shower zones).
What warranty does the sand beige Kara pendant come with?
This pendant light comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty applies from the date of purchase and is valid for domestic use within the UK. Note that bulbs are consumable items and are not covered under the warranty.
