Does the Kara pendant light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, this is a hardwired Class I pendant light and legally requires installation by a qualified electrician under UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains ceiling supply, typically via a BESA box or junction box. Installation is rated as easy for competent professionals, and it's suitable for mounting on plasterboard, timber joists, or concrete ceilings.
What bulb do I need for this pendant light?
You'll need one E27 screw-in bulb with a maximum wattage of 7W. No bulb is included with the fitting, so purchase separately. We recommend an LED filament bulb in warm white (2700K) to complement the dusty pink stone-effect finish and create a cosy ambience.
Can this pendant light be dimmed?
Yes, the Kara is dimmable provided you fit a dimmable E27 bulb and use a trailing edge dimmer switch on your wall circuit. The fitting itself supports dimming, but you must ensure both the bulb and dimmer are compatible. Standard leading edge dimmers may cause flickering with LED bulbs.
What are the dimensions and how low does it hang?
The pendant has a total drop height of 2000mm (2 metres) from ceiling to the base of the shade when fully extended, with a cable length of 2m. The shade itself measures 600mm wide by 500mm deep. The cable is height-adjustable, so you can shorten it during installation to suit your ceiling height and table clearance needs.
Is this pendant light suitable for a bathroom?
No, this fitting is rated IP20, which means it's only suitable for dry indoor locations and offers no protection against moisture. It cannot be installed in bathroom zones or any area where it may be exposed to water or high humidity. Keep it to living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, and similar dry spaces.
What warranty does the dusty pink Kara pendant come with?
