Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Oslo ceiling light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, this is a hardwired ceiling light and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains ceiling wiring, typically via a ceiling rose or junction box. It comes with mounting hardware and an instruction manual to guide the installation process.
What type of bulb does this ceiling light take and is it included?
The Oslo uses a standard E27 screw-in bulb with a maximum wattage of 11W (LED equivalent). The bulb is not included, so you'll need to purchase one separately. We recommend an E27 LED bulb in your preferred colour temperature—warm white (2700K) creates a cosy atmosphere, while cool white (4000K) offers brighter task lighting.
Can I use this ceiling light with a dimmer switch?
Yes, the Oslo is dimmable when fitted with a dimmable E27 LED bulb. You'll need a trailing edge dimmer switch for smooth, flicker-free dimming performance. Both the fitting and the bulb must be dimmable for this to work properly, so ensure you purchase a dimmable LED bulb separately.
What are the dimensions and how much clearance does it take from the ceiling?
The fitting measures 300mm in diameter and extends 180mm down from the ceiling, making it ideal for rooms with standard or lower ceiling heights. As a semi-flush mount, it sits relatively close to the ceiling while still providing adequate light distribution. The compact footprint works well above dining tables, in bedrooms, or hallway spaces.
Can I install this light in a bathroom?
No, this ceiling light is rated IP20 and is only suitable for dry indoor environments. It does not have the necessary moisture protection for bathroom use, where you would typically need a minimum of IP44 (or IP65 for shower zones). Consider using it in living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, or hallways instead.
How bright will this ceiling light be with an 11W LED bulb?
An 11W LED bulb typically produces around 800-1000 lumens, which is roughly equivalent to an old 60-75W incandescent bulb. This provides sufficient ambient lighting for a small to medium-sized room (up to approximately 12-15 square metres). For larger spaces or task-heavy areas, you may want to supplement with additional lighting sources.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
