Does the Tavo triple spot ceiling light require an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a hardwired ceiling light that must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains ceiling supply and requires competent electrical work to wire safely. Installation difficulty is rated as moderate, and the light can be mounted to plasterboard, timber joists, or concrete ceilings.
What GU10 bulbs do I need and are they included?
You'll need to purchase three GU10 bulbs separately as none are included. Each lampholder supports a maximum of 12W, so you can use LED GU10s up to that wattage. For full dimming functionality, make sure to choose dimmable GU10 bulbs, as the Tavo works with a trailing edge dimmer when paired with compatible dimmable lamps.
Can this spotlight fitting be dimmed?
Yes, the Tavo is dimmable when used with dimmable GU10 bulbs and a trailing edge dimmer switch (not included). You'll need to install the appropriate dimmer on your lighting circuit and ensure all three bulbs are dimmable LEDs. Non-dimmable bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.
What are the dimensions of this triple spot ceiling light?
The fitting measures 250mm in diameter and has a height of 155mm from the ceiling. This compact footprint makes it suitable for standard ceiling heights without intruding too far into the room, while the three adjustable spotlights provide flexible directional lighting across a wider area.
Can I use the Tavo in a bathroom or kitchen?
The Tavo has an IP20 rating, which means it's suitable for general indoor use including kitchens, but not for bathroom zones where moisture protection is required. For kitchens it's fine, but keep it away from direct splashes. If you need bathroom lighting, you'll require a fitting with at least IP44 for zones 2 and 3, or IP65 for zones 0 and 1.
