A few questions,
before it comes home.
Does the Galera rechargeable picture light require an electrician to install?
No, this picture light requires no electrician or mains wiring whatsoever. It's USB-C rechargeable and mounts to the wall using the included screws and plugs, making it a straightforward DIY installation that anyone can complete in minutes. Because there's no electrical work involved, UK Part P Building Regulations don't apply.
How long does the battery last on a single charge?
Battery runtime depends on your usage pattern and brightness settings, but rechargeable picture lights of this type typically provide several hours of continuous illumination per charge. You can recharge it easily using the included USB-C cable whenever needed. For best results, recharge after each use or when you notice the light dimming.
Is this picture light dimmable or does it have brightness settings?
The product specifications don't indicate dimming functionality or multiple brightness settings. It operates at a fixed light output designed to provide optimal illumination for artwork and photographs. If you require adjustable brightness, you may want to consider a mains-powered dimmable picture light instead.
What size artwork or picture frame will this 400mm picture light suit?
At 400mm wide, the Galera is ideal for medium-sized frames and artwork, typically those between 50cm and 80cm in width. The light projects 130mm from the wall, so ensure you have adequate clearance above your frame. For best illumination, position the light centrally above your artwork with the shade angled to cast light evenly across the surface.
Can I use this rechargeable picture light in a bathroom?
No, this light has an IP20 rating, meaning it offers no protection against moisture and is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It must not be installed in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any area where it might be exposed to water or high humidity. For bathrooms, you'll need a picture light with a minimum IP44 rating.
Does this picture light use replaceable bulbs or is it integrated LED?
The product specifications don't explicitly state the bulb type, but rechargeable picture lights of this design typically use integrated LEDs built into the unit. If bulb replacement is important to you, we recommend contacting us before purchase to confirm whether the LED module is user-replaceable or if the entire unit would need replacing when the light source reaches end of life.
