A little magic after dark.
Hand-cast in a small Portuguese studio, the Kiro is a wall light that behaves more like a piece of ceramics than a fitting. Its cone-shaped shade throws light both up and down, washing the wall above and below in a soft, glare-free glow rather than pointing a beam into the room. In Cocoa Brown — a rich dark chocolate brown — it reads as quiet architecture by day and turns into a warm band of light after dark.
Patrícia Lobo casts, paints and glazes every Kiro by hand at LOBO Atelier, so slight variations in tone and surface are part of the piece and no two are quite the same. The Small measures 205mm wide x 120mm deep x 165mm high and takes one G9 bulb up to 40W (a 4W LED is ideal, bulb not included), dimmable with a dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer. Hardwired for indoor wall mounting. Made to order in Portugal.

Does the Kiro Ceramic Wall Light need to be installed by a qualified electrician?
Yes, as a hardwired wall light, the Kiro must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to mains wiring rather than plugging in, so it requires professional installation to ensure safety and compliance. Most installations will involve connecting to an existing BESA box or suitable wall mounting point.
What type of bulb does the Kiro wall light use and is it included?
The Kiro uses a single G9 capsule bulb, which is not included with the fitting. G9 bulbs are widely available in LED, halogen, and other formats. Because the fitting is dimmable, you'll need to choose a dimmable G9 bulb if you plan to use it with a dimmer switch.

Is this wall light suitable for bathrooms?
No, the Kiro has an IP20 rating, which means it's only suitable for dry indoor locations and is not protected against moisture. It cannot be used in bathrooms or other areas where water or high humidity is present. For bathroom lighting, you'll need a fitting rated at least IP44 or higher depending on the zone.
Does the Kiro throw light outwards into the room or onto the wall?
The Kiro's cone-shaped shade directs light both upwards and downwards onto the wall surface rather than projecting it outwards into the room. This creates an indirect, glare-free wash of light above and below the fitting, making it ideal for ambient lighting, mood lighting, or highlighting wall textures without harsh beams or spotlighting effects.
