01 / The feeling
Lovely by day.
A little magic after dark.
Hand-cast in a small Portuguese studio, the Kiro is a wall light that behaves more like a piece of ceramics than a fitting. Its cone-shaped shade throws light both up and down, washing the wall above and below in a soft, glare-free glow rather than pointing a beam into the room. In Macchiato — a warm, milky coffee tone — it reads as quiet architecture by day and turns into a warm band of light after dark.
Patrícia Lobo casts, paints and glazes every Kiro by hand at LOBO Atelier, so slight variations in tone and surface are part of the piece and no two are quite the same. The Small measures 205mm wide x 120mm deep x 165mm high and takes one G9 bulb up to 40W (a 4W LED is ideal, bulb not included), dimmable with a dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer. Hardwired for indoor wall mounting. Made to order in Portugal.

Good to know
A few questions,
before it comes home.
Does the Kiro Ceramic Wall Light need to be installed by a qualified electrician?
Yes. The Kiro is a hardwired wall light, so installation falls under Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales. Unless you're a qualified electrician or competent person, you'll need to hire a registered spark to connect it safely to your mains circuit and certify the work. Most wall lights mount to a standard BESA box or backplate buried in the wall.
What type of bulb does the Kiro wall light use and is it included?
The Kiro uses a single G9 capsule bulb, which is not included with the fitting. G9 bulbs are widely available in LED, halogen, and even filament-style versions, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suits your space. Make sure your chosen G9 bulb is dimmable if you plan to use it with a dimmer switch.
Can the Kiro Ceramic Wall Light be dimmed?
Yes, the Kiro is dimmable, but you'll need to fit a compatible dimmable G9 bulb and have a trailing-edge dimmer switch installed on the circuit. Not all G9 LEDs dim smoothly, so look for bulbs specifically marked as dimmable and check reviews for flicker or buzzing issues. The fitting itself has no restrictions on dimming.
What are the dimensions of the small Kiro wall light in Macchiato?
The small Kiro measures 205mm wide, 165mm tall, and projects 120mm from the wall. It weighs 700g, so it's a compact fitting that won't dominate narrow hallways or smaller rooms. The cone-shaped ceramic shade casts light both upwards and downwards along the wall rather than outwards into the room.
Is the Kiro wall light suitable for bathrooms?
No. The Kiro is rated IP20, which means it has no moisture protection and is only suitable for dry indoor areas. For bathrooms, you'd need at least IP44 (ideally IP65 in zones 1 and 2), so this fitting should be kept to hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, or dining areas where there's no risk of water spray or high humidity.
How much light does the Kiro wall light produce?
Light output depends entirely on the G9 bulb you choose, as the Kiro accepts any standard G9 capsule. A typical 3–4W LED G9 produces around 300–400 lumens, which is ideal for ambient or accent lighting along a hallway or beside a bed. Because the ceramic shade directs light up and down the wall rather than into the room, it creates a soft, glare-free wash rather than task-level brightness.
