Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
What type of bulb does the Kruk concrete pendant use and is it included?
The Kruk requires a GU10 bulb with a maximum wattage of 35W. The bulb is not included, so you'll need to purchase one separately. GU10 bulbs are widely available in LED, halogen, and energy-saving formats, giving you flexibility to choose your preferred brightness and colour temperature.
Can this pendant light be dimmed?
Yes, the Kruk concrete pendant is dimmable when paired with a trailing edge dimmer switch and a dimmable GU10 bulb. You'll need to ensure both the dimmer switch and the bulb you purchase are compatible with each other. Trailing edge dimmers are designed for LED and low-voltage lighting and provide smoother, more reliable dimming performance.
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant light?
Yes, an electrician is required as this is a hardwired pendant light. Under UK Building Regulations Part P, fixed lighting installation in certain rooms must be carried out by a qualified electrician or certified under a competent person scheme. The installation difficulty is rated as moderate, and the fitting must be connected directly to your mains electrical supply.
What are the dimensions of this pendant and how low will it hang?
The pendant has a total height of 1300mm (1.3 metres) and a diameter of 70mm, making it a slender, tubular design. The overall drop includes the suspension cable, which can typically be shortened during installation to suit your ceiling height. At 70mm wide, it's ideal for positioning above kitchen islands or dining tables without obstructing sightlines.
Is the Kruk pendant suitable for bathroom use?
No, this pendant has an IP20 rating, which means it's only suitable for dry indoor areas and offers no protection against moisture. For bathroom use, you would need a minimum of IP44 (or IP65 for shower zones), so this fitting should be limited to living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, dining areas, or kitchens away from direct water exposure.
What warranty does this concrete pendant come with?
The Kruk concrete pendant light comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The fitting is CE marked and RoHS compliant, meeting all relevant UK and European safety standards. Note that the warranty applies to the fixture itself; bulbs are considered consumable items and are not typically covered.
