Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does this wall spotlight require an electrician to install?
Yes, the Forge is a hardwired fitting and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. It connects directly to your mains wiring, typically via a BESA box or suitable wall-mounted junction box. An electrician will ensure safe installation and proper earthing of the metal fitting.
What type of bulb does this wall light take and is it included?
This fitting takes a single E14 small Edison screw bulb with a maximum wattage of 7W. The bulb is not included, so you'll need to purchase an E14 LED bulb separately. For best results with the caged design, choose a candle or golf ball shaped bulb that fits within the cage dimensions.
Can I use this wall spotlight with a dimmer switch?
Dimming capability depends entirely on the bulb you choose, as the fitting itself is compatible with dimmable bulbs. If you want dimming functionality, purchase a dimmable E14 LED bulb and ensure your wall switch is an LED-compatible dimmer. The integrated rocker switch on the base is on/off only, not a dimmer control.
Is this suitable for bathroom use?
No, this spotlight has an IP20 rating which means it's only suitable for dry indoor locations and offers no protection against moisture. It cannot be used in bathrooms or any area where it may be exposed to water or high humidity. For bathrooms, you would need a fitting rated IP44 or higher depending on the zone.
How far does the wall light stick out from the wall?
The Forge has a depth of 210mm from the wall to the furthest point of the fitting. This projection allows for the adjustable head mechanism and caged design. With a height of 150mm and width of 120mm, it's reasonably compact but does have a noticeable profile, so ensure you have adequate clearance in narrow hallways or beside doorways.
What warranty does this wall spotlight come with?
This fitting is covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty covers the light fitting itself but does not cover bulbs, which are consumable items. Keep your proof of purchase should you need to make a warranty claim.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
