Rouen

Yes, as a hardwired Class I outdoor wall light, this fitting must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The installation requires connection to mains electricity and proper earthing, which falls under notifiable electrical work. A competent person should also ensure the IP44 rating is maintained during installation to protect against water ingress.

This wall light has an IP44 rating, meaning it's protected against solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction. It's suitable for covered outdoor areas such as porches, under eaves, or doorways where it won't be exposed to direct heavy rain or water jets. For fully exposed locations, you'd need a higher IP rating such as IP65.

This fitting takes two E27 ES (Edison Screw) bulbs with a maximum wattage of 60W each. Bulbs are not included, so you'll need to purchase them separately. You can use LED, halogen, or traditional incandescent E27 bulbs up to the 60W limit, giving you flexibility in choosing your preferred light output and colour temperature.

The product specifications don't indicate that this is a dimmable fitting. While you could install dimmable E27 bulbs, the fitting itself would need to be connected to a compatible dimmer switch for the dimming function to work, and there's no guarantee the fitting's components are designed for dimming. It's best to contact the manufacturer or use standard non-dimmable bulbs unless dimming compatibility is confirmed.

The Rouen measures 380mm in height, 102mm in width, and projects 158mm from the wall. With its double lampholder design arranged vertically in a round housing, it has a compact footprint suitable for doorways and smaller wall spaces whilst providing good illumination from two bulbs.

Yes, the Rouen is constructed from stainless steel and polycarbonate with a black finish, both materials chosen specifically for outdoor durability. Stainless steel is naturally corrosion-resistant, making it well-suited to the UK's damp climate. The IP44 rating also ensures the internal components are protected from moisture that could cause deterioration over time.
