The Seto has an integrated LED module, which means there are no separate bulbs to replace. The LED is built directly into the fitting and is rated for 30,000 hours of use (approximately 20 years at typical household usage). If the LED eventually fails after this lifespan, the entire unit would need replacing, though this is many years away under normal use.
Do I need an electrician to install this ceiling light, and does it comply with Part P?
Yes, this is a hardwired ceiling light and legally requires installation by a qualified electrician under Part P Building Regulations in England and Wales. The fitting is Class I (earthed) and must be connected to your mains electrical supply, typically at an existing ceiling rose or junction box. Installation difficulty is rated as moderate, and it's suitable for plasterboard, timber joist, or concrete ceilings.
How do I dim this light if it doesn't use a traditional dimmer switch?
The Seto uses 3-step dimming controlled by your existing wall light switch—no dimmer switch required. Simply flick the wall switch off and on again quickly to cycle through three brightness levels (100%, 50%, and 10% approximately). This makes it ideal for bedrooms or living rooms where you want adjustable lighting without rewiring for a dimmer.
How bright is this light, and is the colour temperature warm or cool?
The integrated LED produces 2,300 lumens at 36W, which is bright enough to serve as the main ceiling light in a bedroom or living room up to around 15–18 square metres. The colour temperature is 2,700K, which is a warm white similar to traditional incandescent bulbs, creating a cosy atmosphere rather than a stark, cool light.
