You will need a qualified electrician to install this light, as it's a hardwired pendant that connects directly to your mains supply. Under UK Building Regulations Part P, any new or altered fixed wiring in kitchens, bathrooms, or outdoors must be installed or certified by a registered electrician. The Umi is rated as easy to install for a professional and mounts to plasterboard, timber joist, or concrete ceilings.
What type of bulbs does this 3-light cluster pendant use and are they included?
This pendant uses three G9 capsule bulbs, which are included in the box. G9 bulbs are small push-fit capsules commonly available in supermarkets, DIY stores, and online. The fitting is not dimmable, so standard G9 LED bulbs at 3000K (warm white) will work perfectly as replacements when needed.
Is the Umi pendant light dimmable?
No, this pendant is not dimmable. The fixture does not support dimming functionality, so it should be connected to a standard on/off switch only. If you install it on a dimmer circuit, it may flicker, hum, or fail to light properly, so a conventional switch is required.
