Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Akra Antique LED wall light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, this is a hardwired Class I fitting that must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK Part P Building Regulations. The light connects directly to your mains wiring and requires an earth connection, so it's not a plug-in fixture. Your electrician will secure it to a suitable wall surface and make the necessary electrical connections safely.
Can I replace the LED bulbs in this wall light when they stop working?
No, the Akra uses integrated LEDs, which means the light source is built into the fitting and cannot be replaced separately. Integrated LEDs typically last 15,000–25,000 hours, so with average use you can expect many years of service. If the LEDs eventually fail after this period, the entire fitting would need replacing, though this is covered by the 2-year manufacturer's warranty.
Is this 100cm LED wall light dimmable?
The product specifications do not indicate dimming capability, so you should assume the Akra is not dimmable. If dimming is essential for your installation, we recommend contacting us before purchase to confirm compatibility with trailing edge or leading edge dimmer switches, as retrofitting dimming to a non-dimmable integrated LED fitting is generally not possible.
What are the exact dimensions and how much does it protrude from the wall?
The Akra measures 1010mm in height and just 23mm in width, making it an exceptionally slender vertical strip. The depth (protrusion from the wall) is not specified in the technical data, but linear surface-mounted LED fittings of this type typically extend 15–30mm from the wall surface. This slim profile makes it ideal for narrow hallways, alongside mirrors, or flanking doorways without encroaching into walkways.
Can this wall light be used in a bathroom?
No, the Akra has an IP20 rating, which means it offers no moisture protection and is suitable for dry indoor locations only. For bathroom use, you would need a fitting rated at least IP44 (or IP65 for zones 1 and 2 near the shower or bath). This wall light is best suited to hallways, staircases, bedrooms, and living areas where moisture is not a concern.
What colour temperature does the integrated LED produce and how bright is it?
The specifications provided do not list the lumen output or colour temperature (CCT) for this fitting. Integrated LED wall lights of this style typically emit warm white light around 3000K, but you should contact us to confirm the exact brightness and tone before purchase if this is critical for your project. The plexiglass diffuser is designed to cast soft, diffused light rather than focused task lighting.
