Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Ravenna Single Wall Sconce require a qualified electrician to install?
Yes, as this is a mains-powered wall light hardwired into your electrical supply, installation must comply with Building Regulations Part P in England and Wales. Unless you are a competent person registered with an electrical self-certification scheme, you'll need to hire a qualified electrician or notify your local authority building control before installation. The fitting is designed to mount to a standard BESA box or backplate.
What type of bulb does this wall light take and is it included?
The Ravenna uses a single standard Edison screw (E27) lampholder. The bulb is not included, so you'll need to purchase one separately. You can use any E27 bulb up to the maximum wattage specified on the fitting's label—LED, halogen, or filament bulbs are all compatible depending on the look and light output you prefer.
Can I use this wall sconce with a dimmer switch?
Dimming capability depends entirely on the bulb you choose, not the fitting itself. If you install a dimmable E27 LED or filament bulb and have a compatible dimmer switch already fitted, the Ravenna will dim smoothly. Make sure your dimmer switch is rated for LED bulbs if using LED, as older dimmer switches designed for halogen may cause flickering.
What are the dimensions of the Ravenna wall light?
Specific dimensions are not provided in the technical specifications available. We recommend checking the product page or contacting customer service for exact measurements including projection from the wall, height, and width to ensure the Ravenna suits your intended space before ordering.
Is this antique brass wall light suitable for bathroom use?
This fitting does not have an IP rating listed in its specifications, which means it is not rated for bathroom zones where moisture protection is required. It should only be installed in dry indoor locations away from direct water exposure. For bathrooms, look for wall lights with a minimum IP44 rating.
What rooms or locations work best for a single-bulb wall sconce like this?
The Ravenna is ideal for hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, or flanking a mirror or artwork where you want focused accent lighting or ambient warmth. With just one lampholder, it provides moderate illumination, so it works best as supplementary lighting rather than the sole light source in larger rooms. Pair two either side of a bed or doorway for a balanced, symmetrical look.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
