A few questions,
before it comes home.
Is the Alicia wall light suitable for outdoor use in all weathers?
Yes, this wall light is rated IP44, which means it's protected against splashing water from any direction and is suitable for most outdoor locations including covered porches, patios, and garden walls. The IP44 rating makes it ideal for sheltered outdoor areas, though it's not recommended for locations with direct, prolonged exposure to heavy rain or submersion. It operates reliably in temperatures from -20°C to 40°C.
Do I need an electrician to install this outdoor wall light?
Yes, you'll need a qualified electrician for installation. This is a hardwired Class I light fitting that must be permanently connected to your mains electrical supply, and under UK Building Regulations Part P, all outdoor electrical work must be carried out by a certified professional. The light includes all necessary mounting hardware, and the installation difficulty is rated as easy for a qualified installer.
What type of bulb does the Alicia wall light take and is it dimmable?
This fixture requires a single E27 ES (Edison Screw) bulb with a maximum wattage of 40W. The bulb is not included, so you can choose LED, halogen, or traditional filament bulbs to suit your preference. Dimming capability depends entirely on the bulb you select—if you want dimming, choose a dimmable E27 bulb and ensure it's compatible with your dimmer switch.
What are the exact dimensions of this wall light?
The Alicia wall light measures 320mm in height, 165mm in width, and projects 120mm from the wall. This compact yet characterful size makes it well-proportioned for standard residential applications such as flanking front doors, lighting garden paths, or illuminating smaller courtyard areas without overwhelming the space.
Can this light be used indoors as well as outdoors?
While this wall light is specifically designed and rated for outdoor use with its IP44 weatherproof construction, it can certainly be used indoors if you wish. The rustic brown finish and vintage farmhouse styling would complement country kitchens, hallways, or utility rooms. However, it's not suitable for bathroom zones due to the IP44 rating.
What warranty does the Alicia wall light come with?
This wall light is covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty. The fixture is CE marked and RoHS compliant, meeting all relevant UK and EU safety standards. The construction combines stainless steel and polycarbonate materials for durability in outdoor conditions.
