Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Is the Compact LED wall light suitable for outdoor use in all weather?
Yes, this fitting is designed for outdoor use with an IP54 rating, which means it's protected against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. It's suitable for mounting on exterior walls, under soffits, porches, or covered outdoor areas. While IP54 offers good weather resistance, it's best positioned where it won't be subjected to direct high-pressure water jets or prolonged submersion.
Can this wall light be dimmed?
The specifications don't indicate dimming capability for this integrated LED fitting. Most compact integrated LED outdoor wall lights like the Compact operate at fixed output unless specifically stated as dimmable. If dimming is essential for your needs, you would need to confirm compatibility with the manufacturer or consider an alternative dimmable model.
Do I need an electrician to install this hardwired wall light?
Yes, as this is a hardwired mains fitting, installation must comply with Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales. Can I replace the LED bulb when it eventually fails?

Integrated LEDs typically last 25,000-50,000 hours (roughly 15-30 years of normal use), so replacement is rarely needed during the fitting's lifetime. When the LED eventually reaches end of life, the entire fitting would need to be replaced rather than just changing a bulb.
What colour temperature is the light and is it warm or cool white?
The Compact emits a neutral white light at 4000K (Kelvin). This sits between warm white (2700-3000K) and cool white (5000K+), offering a clean, crisp illumination that's neither too yellow nor too blue. The 4000K temperature is popular for modern outdoor settings as it provides good visibility and complements contemporary architecture without being overly clinical.
How far does this wall light stick out from the wall?
The projection is 80mm (8cm) from the wall surface, making it quite compact and unobtrusive. Combined with its 240mm height and 130mm width, the Compact has a low-profile design that won't protrude excessively into walkways or narrow passages.
