Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Does the Kanto Mini LED Module require an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a mains-powered Class I fitting that requires hardwiring into your 230V supply, so installation must comply with Building Regulations Part P. Unless you're a competent person registered with an electrical self-certification scheme, you'll need a qualified electrician to carry out the work and issue the necessary certification. The module connects to the included LED driver, which then wires into your mains circuit.
What type of dimmer switch do I need for this LED module?
The Kanto requires a leading edge (TRIAC) dimmer switch to function properly when dimming. Standard trailing edge or older resistive dimmers designed for incandescent bulbs may cause flickering or humming. Make sure your dimmer is rated for LED loads and check the manufacturer's minimum wattage requirement, as this module draws only 6W.
Can I use this LED module in a bathroom?
No, the Kanto Mini has an IP20 rating, which means it's only suitable for dry indoor environments with no moisture exposure. For bathroom use, you'd need a fitting rated at least IP44 (or IP65 for shower zones), depending on the zone. This module is ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and kitchens away from direct water sources.
How bright is 720 lumens and what size room will it light?
At 720 lumens, this 6W module produces roughly the equivalent of a traditional 60W incandescent bulb. It's well-suited for accent lighting, task lighting over a desk or kitchen counter, or ambient lighting in smaller rooms like hallways, WCs, or walk-in wardrobes. For general lighting in larger living spaces, you'd typically need multiple modules or supplementary fittings.
Can I replace the LED module when it eventually fails?
The Kanto uses an integrated LED design, meaning the LED is built into the module rather than being a replaceable bulb. When the LED reaches the end of its life, you'll need to replace the entire module. That said, quality LEDs typically last 25,000+ hours, and the fitting is covered by a 5-year warranty for peace of mind.
What's the difference between 3000K and 4000K, and which should I choose?
3000K produces a warm white light with a slightly yellow, cosy tone—ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, and spaces where you want a relaxed atmosphere. 4000K is a neutral white that feels crisper and more alert, making it better suited to kitchens, bathrooms, home offices, and utility areas. Both options offer CRI90+ colour rendering, so colours will look natural and true regardless of which temperature you select.
